(openPR) - DURHAM, NC – National Football League Veteran Alvis Whitted has teamed up with The NeoSoul Trading Company to host a story time for children in Durham’s historic Northgate Mall.
A Durham native and graduate of North Carolina State University, Whitted believes starting with his own community is the right thing to do. “I grew up in Durham just down the street from Northgate Mall,” Whitted said.
“I recognize the challenges this city has faced and will face in the future. In order for us to continue revitalizing the community, we must focus on our youth.”
Leroy Brown, President of The NeoSoul Trading Company, shared Whitted’s passion. “When we founded this company, one of our guiding principles was giving back to the community. Storytime Saturdays is the first of many events we have planned for the Triangle. Alvis has been a leader on the field for nine seasons in the NFL and we are excited to be a part of bringing that leadership off the field into Durham.”
Storytime Saturdays will take place at Café Allegro, located in Northgate Mall, the second Saturday of the month in May, June, and July. The events begin at 11:00 a.m. and last approximately an hour.
