(openPR) - BOCA RATON, FL – Atlanta’s Harry Norman Realtors received highest honor at the 2008 Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® conference at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, FL April 9-11. The Diamond Award was presented in recognition of Harry Norman’s participation in all of LeadingRE’s business offerings. Nearly 800 real estate brokers, managers, relocation professionals, sponsors and guests from the U.S. and 11 countries around the world participated in the annual event.
The conference offered representatives from the top residential real estate firms a forum for discussing issues impacting residential real estate and included a variety of topics, including the current status of online real estate, marketing strategies and the real estate market adjustment.
Attendance at the event was strong, and, according to LeadingRE President and CEO Pam O’Connor, participants were positive. “Despite the fact that the market has slowed in most areas, our attendance was about the same as last year – showing the strength of this network and its independent brokerage firms. It was encouraging to talk with brokers from markets across the country and abroad who are committed to growing their companies and capitalizing on market opportunities,” O’Connor notes.
An impressive line-up of speakers included keynoter Dr. Joseph Michelli, bestselling author of The Starbucks Experience: 5 Principles for Turning Ordinary to Extraordinary, who shared insights on "Creating the Total Customer Experience." Also on the agenda were senior strategic advisor to Scripps Networks and part of the founding HGTV executive team Channing Dawson, author and career coach Mike Staver, technology innovator Matthew Ferrara, marketing expert Jennifer Cummings, Hitwise General Manager Bill Tancer, national trainer Steve Harney and market analyst Brad Hunter. Rounding out the program were LeadingRE member brokers, relocation directors and technology and marketing professionals, who shared success strategies on a variety of topics.
Highlights included Networking Night, the popular conference kick-off, which featured exhibits from more than 60 sponsors and affiliate companies, and the Gala Awards Dinner and Ceremony, where LeadingRE’s top companies were recognized. Among the many performance awards presented, the prestigious Crown of Excellence was awarded to Allen Tate Company (NC & SC), Fonville Morisey Realty (NC), Mel Foster Company, Inc. (IA), Cottingham-Chalk & Associates (NC), Westmark Realtors (TX), Rusinak Real Estate (CO) and Cam Taylor, Realtors (OH).
LeadingRE will host its 2008 International Real Estate Symposium at the Rome Cavalieri Hilton in Rome, Italy September 14-16. Its next annual conference is March 26-28, 2009 at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale, AZ.
