Galileo Tools announces new product Conigma™ QCOPY

IT, New Media & Software
Press release from: Galileo Tools GmbH
(openPR) - Higher quality and major reductions in time and cost for the copying and reproducing of SAP® Systems

Munich, April 30, 2008 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for change and transport management of SAP®, has announced the immediate release of its latest product, Conigma™ QCOPY. Conigma™ QCOPY ensures that when an SAP system is copied and rebuild, all required adaptation and software components to achieve a consistent configuration are installed automatically.

In order to ensure that their SAP consultants are provided with up-to-date test data, the IT department in many companies have to copy the SAP production system back to the SAP quality assurance (QA) system several times each year. However, after the productive system has been copied to the QA system, all software components which were not installed in the productive system yet, but were already in the QA system, must be recreated, to ensure that no program modifications or adaptations were lost while copying the data. At present, in order to do this, the SAP basis administrators manually have to rebuild the import queue of the copied system to achieve the correct status. While this task is being performed, the QA system is out of action – which means that urgent new developments released during this period of time are often transported straight into the production system without any quality assurance at all.

Conigma QCOPY allows the user via a simple, intuitive graphical user interface to rebuild an SAP system into a consistent status after a system copy, and it also facilitates copying between different SAP clients. While it is not possible with the SAP interface to control technical modes how a software component needs to be installed, such modes are recognised by Conigma QCOPY and automatically implemented correctly.

"Many companies copy SAP systems manually, which quite often takes them several days until consistency in the QA system is re-established. This means, the QA system is effectively out of action for that period of time. In addition, this task can generally only be performed by experienced SAP basis administrators. Now a member of the IT staff without expert knowledge of SAP can perform an SAP system copy in a very short time, by using Conigma QCOPY, resulting in significant cost reductions due to the fact that QCOPY can re-establish the consistency of the rebuild SAP system in a matter of minutes – while manual intervention takes an experienced SAP consultant several days and is extremely prone to errors," explains Matthias Kneissl, Head of Product Management at Galileo Tools GmbH.

Conigma QCOPY is licensed for each SAP System which is the target for a SAP system copy. Users of Conigma CCM with an active maintenance and support contract receive Conigma QCOPY as part of this agreement.
