(openPR) - mirabyte has released v. 1.5 of Feed Writer and Feed Writer Premium, a pair of professional desktop RSS Editors for Windows that make it easy to create and edit your RSS newsfeeds. Feed Writer Premium has all the advanced features that business people expect in a commercial RSS newsfeed management application. Feed Writer reads and writes RSS feeds in RSS 2.0, RSS 0.91, and RSS 0.92 formats. In addition, the program can read and write podcasts. UTF-8 feeds are fully supported, allowing the program to process characters from all languages. The program has both WYSIWYG and text-only editors for feed items. By highlighting all mandatory fields, Feed Writer makes it easy to manage feed meta data.
The Premium Edition of Feed Writer comes with a code editor with full syntax highlighting, for direct editing of the XML source code. The Premium Edition also features both XML and RSS feed validation for checking the syntax of the file. It supports both ordinary FTP and secure SFTP/SSH protocols for direct opening and saving of feeds on a remote server. The Premium Edition includes proxy server support for the integrated FTP client and web access. You can even import feed items from Microsoft Excel.
Feed Writer v. 1.5 runs under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista, and is available without charge for home users. The Premium Edition has an extended feature set, is available for commercial use, and costs $39.95(US) for a single-user license.
