(openPR) - New release 3.20 of Conigma™ CCM of Galileo Tools now contains audit-proof archiving of compliance data deriving from the SAP change process, integration of SAP test management and several new functions for automating the SAP transport management.
Munich, April 3, 2008 - The Galileo Tools GmbH, a leading provider of software solutions for the Change and Transport management for SAP®, today announces the immediate availability of Conigma™ CCM Release 3.20. The main new functionalities of this release contain an audit-proof archiving of all compliance-relevant information generated through the SAP Change process, which will be stored in the SAP archive leveraging the SAP ArchiveLink interface. Additionally, the SAP test tools (ECATT or CATT) are integrated into the change process, allowing automation of the test process, i.e. starting predefined tests, evaluation of test results and automatic processing of activities depending on the test results. Another highlight of release 3.2 is the possibility to now completely automate the transport of complex releases, containing often several hundreds of change requests, to complex parallel SAP landscapes.
Conigma customers with valid maintenance and support contracts receive this release free of charge.
Conigma Overview
The Conigma Suite enables companies to define homogeneous, highly automated and efficient IT processes - which may be freely defined - for change, release and transport management for SAP – working across parallel SAP landscapes as well as covering heterogeneous customizing technologies (configurations, ABAP, JAVA, XI), and to apply these processes both in the company itself and in collaboration with development and consulting partners.
SAP ArchiveLink Integration
The integration of Conigma with SAP ArchiveLink enables the customers to audit-proof archive their SAP change requests und release data including all related and relevant metadata, i.e. the used workflow, approvals, test results, and protocols. This is a crucial feature to fulfill the compliance requirements, mandatory for GoBS, Sarbanes-Oxley, KonTraG, Basel lI regulations, as well as FDA, ESHA and others.
Integration of SAP test management
The new Conigma release contains a powerful integration for the SAP test tools (ECATT or CATT). This integration allow for automatically starting the test process, using the pre-defined test data, as well as receiving and evaluating the test results. Based on the test results, status changes as well as next workflow steps may be triggered, i.e. receiving a negative test result would result in redirecting a change request to the developer and send a notification to other relevant people, whilst with a positive test result the change request is automatically approved for transport to the production system.
Automation of SAP transport management
In particular in large organizations with complex SAP landscapes, i,e. several parallel SAP lines plus 5-system architecture, closely linked to each other, it is nearly impossible to manually organize the transport of new releases containing hundreds or thousands of SAP transport orders free of errors and efficiently. Now Conigma, triggered by metadata, i.e. a going-live date for a release, is able to transport a complete release fully automatic to any SAP instances within a complex parallel SAP landscape by automatically assembling the different import queues and starting the transport process. Typically the import queues are processed in parallel, but it is also possible to serialize the imports based on conditions. Another new feature allows the definition of scenarios do deliver to several SAP systems based on conditions, i.e. if the transport have been executed error-free to the preproduction system, then the import to the production system is started automatically by Conigma, thus reducing the amount for administrating the SAP transport management significantly.
„The new version of Conigma CCM will significantly increase our technological advantage in the market. A lot of the new functionality has been influenced and driven by our key customers. We have focused mainly on functionalities to deliver compliance out-of-the-box and more process automation and efficiency capabilities. Conigma CCM Release 3.2 now allows to reduce the cost for the SAP Change process even more as additional process steps may be automated and sources for mistakes are eliminated“, said Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH.
