(openPR) - By virtue of its oxygen-displacing properties, nitrogen is used in the bottling of still soft drinks to preserve flavour and prolong shelf-life. Over the past few years, Messer has put into operation over 20 liquid-nitrogen injectors to service the Serbian cooking oils and soft drinks industry. For these applications some 250 tonnes of liquid nitrogen – which incidentally is of food-grade quality – are used in Serbia annually.
