(openPR) - DALLAS – Four former partners from a large Dallas law firm are announcing the formation of Taber Estes Thorne & Carr PLLC, one of the city’s rare women-owned law firms.
Attorneys Jane Taber, Dawn Estes, Jessica Thorne and Lori Carr bring more than 70 combined years of big firm experience representing business clients in litigation, labor & employment, and corporate matters.
The founding partners, all formerly with Dallas’ Gardere Wynne Sewell, are accomplished attorneys with proven talent, integrity and experience.
“We have counseled and represented many Fortune 100 companies over the years,” says Taber, “and we are pleased that many of those clients chose to come with us to the new firm. Having spent all or most of our professional lives in a large firm, the four of us are looking to work in a smaller, more flexible environment.”
Estes says the firm will formalize their day-to-day working relationship.
“We realized that we were essentially already working together as a small firm while at our previous firm,” she says. “But working in a smaller firm environment will allow us to focus more on client service, creative solutions and offer alternative fee structures.”

Taber has a wealth of experience advising insurance entities, health care providers and business entities in transactional and general business legal matters. She also advises clients on dispute resolution, regulatory and administrative law issues.
Estes has a significant civil litigation practice, handling complex commercial and personal injury matters. She also has carved out a niche in technology law, including issues of software performance, trade secret misappropriation and e-commerce. She also serves as an arbitrator and court-appointed mediator.
Thorne handles civil litigation and commercial matters in addition to maintaining a thriving family law practice where she represents clients in all aspects of divorce and child custody. She also represents corporations and individuals in all types of personal and business matters.
Carr is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has expertise in all areas of labor & employment law litigation, including employment discrimination and sexual harassment, as well as compliance issues.
