Irish company SIMchronise announces mobile phone back-up service
Press release from: SIMchronise Ltd.
(openPR) - Irish technology firm SIMchronise today announced the launch of its latest mobile phone back-up service in Ireland, PhoneBackup.
The new service is launched under the phonebackup.eu website as it is targeted at European mobile users. It is initially launched in the Irish market, and will soon be available in the UK, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and other European countries.
Mobile phone users, subscribing to this service, will no longer have to worry about losing their contacts and phone numbers if their mobile phone is ever lost, stolen, broken or simply if they change of mobile phone.
There are now over five million mobile phones in use in Ireland, according to the latest figures, and less than 10 percent use some sort of software or hardware backup solution.
Over 60% of mobile users do not have their address book backed up anywhere else and the vast majority re-enter their contacts one by one, manually, every time they replace their phone.
Getting phone numbers and contact details back when replacing a mobile phone, for any reason, is an industry-wide struggle.
"The industry has focused on smart phones, blackberry and PDA devices but has left out the mainstream mobile users. SIMchronise saw an opportunity with PhoneBackup to tackle a market where mobile users are in high-demand for a service like this. Up until the introduction of PhoneBackup there hasn't been an easy and convenient solution for mobile phone users to safeguard their contacts." said Philippe Joly, CEO SIMchronise.
PhoneBackup supports hundreds of phone models from all the major manufacturers.
The PhoneBackup service allows the users to safeguard their mobile phone address book online and easily restore the information to a new phone in the even the old one is ever lost, stolen, damaged or upgraded.
The service requires no downloads, no cables, no Bluetooth, no infrared and no additional hardware devices. It is completely wireless and uses a synchronisation feature that is already in all supported mobile phones.
