(openPR) - Galileo Tools extends Conigma™ CCM by adding automated auditing of Change and Transport Management for SAP®, thus guaranteeing adherence to a wide range of compliance requirements.
Munich, 19. March 2008 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for change and transport management of SAP®, has announced an extension to its Conigma™ CCM which not only guarantees seamless adherence to compliance requirements in the context of change processes for SAP but also automatically generates all necessary documentation. In this way compliance requirements for the SAP change process as established by Sarbanes-Oxley, KonTraG, Basel II and also FDA, ESHA and others will not cause in the case of an audit a lot of manual and painful work for a company anymore.
The Conigma CCM Suite allows to utilize unified, documented and comprehensible automatic processes - which can be freely defined - for the change, release and transport management of SAP applications, and to apply these processes both in the company itself and in collaboration with development and consultancy partners. This new extension, which has been developed in association with compliance experts at Siemens AG, permits the seamless documentation of all actions which are performed within the context of change process for SAP. A sophisticated authorization concept, combined with the powerful workflow functionality of Conigma, enables the users to implement the process requirements of internal auditing, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the national Banking Act and others - and to guarantee adherence within the defined Change und Release Management process. Conigma CCM documents the entire history of each Change Request, so the audit trail can be displayed in user-friendly report and made available to auditors.
"The user-friendly reporting system contained in Conigma allows us to track down both compliance and process infringements at any time, quickly, clearly and definitively, and help to identify gaps which may be still in the process. Now with the reports available in Conigma, even staff without SAP skills can prepare and check compliance relevant data within the context of the change process for SAP," comments an expert at Siemens AG responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
"Many companies still check, control and trace changes, developments, tests and releases arising from modifications to their SAP systems using manual processes, emails, spreadsheets and text data. These methods are not only inefficient and error prone; they often also lead to mandatory compliance processes not being followed by the users. Conigma facilitates the central administration of all changes and the associated change processes for any SAP system environments required. All the procedural steps contained in a Change Request are supervised, fully documented and made available at any time to check adherence to the compliance requirements. And if processes are not adhered to, the reporting facility uncovers in the shortest possible time the infringement that has taken place," adds Matthias Kneissl, Head of Product Management at Galileo Tools GmbH.
