He joins a distinguished group honored for their outstanding contribution in providing legal services to the poor in 2007.
The “Empire State Counsel” program was created in 2006 to give specific recognition to NYSBA members who provide 50 or more hours of legal services in a calendar year, at no fee and without expectation of fee, to persons of limited financial means; not for profit, governmental, or public services organizations; or organizations specifically designed to increase the availability of legal services to persons of limited financial means. This year’s honorees were recognized at the NYSBA’s “Justice for All” luncheon during the Association’s Annual Meeting week in New York City in January 2008.
Herman is a Partner in the Corporate Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group of Thompson & Knight’s New York office and a member of the Firm’s Information Management and E-Discovery Solutions Practice Group. He has more than 25 years of legal experience and focuses his practice on the representation of secured and unsecured creditor interests, debtors, committees, distressed buyers, indenture trustees, and other constituencies in business bankruptcy cases, restructuring transactions, and workouts.
