Press release from: Jason Steele for Florda House District 31
(openPR) - Jason Steele, Republican candidate for the Florida House of Representatives in District 31, today announced his support of Florida House Bill 821 that is currently being debated by the House Government Efficiency & Accountability Council.

House Bill 821, or the "Florida Safe Borders Act of 2008", requires specified law enforcement officers and clerks of the circuit court to report to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency suspected illegal aliens who are arrested, detained, or convicted of a felony. It also provides for fines to be imposed if these officials fail to report such suspected illegal immigrant felons.

In the US three million dollars are spent incarcerating illegal aliens each day. Currently, 30% of all federal prisoners are illegal aliens. Each year illegal immigrants commit one million sex crimes among other egregious crimes.

With deportation cost estimated at forty one to forty six billion dollars over the course of five years and annual welfare, medical, and schooling cost skyrocketing to three hundred and thirty eight billion dollars each year Jason Steele had this to say, “Our jails, roads, hospitals, schools and jobs are being choked with illegal immigrants, it is not fair, to the millions of immigrants that came here legally, let alone the people of Florida. It must stop before we lose our country to non citizens who are breaking the law"
