(openPR) - San Diego, CA - Jennifer Kerns, one of the most reputable Press Secretaries in California, has joined the campaign of Steve Francis for Mayor.
Kerns, a two-time political appointee of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, has most recently served as Senior Press Secretary for California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, and as Assistant Secretary of State and spokesperson for former California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson.
“We are pleased to welcome a media professional of Jennifer’s caliber,” said Steve Francis, candidate for Mayor. “Her expertise in media relations and her aggressive approach to earned media will have a tremendous impact on this important race.”
A resident of San Diego, Kerns has previously served on the staff of the California State Legislature and on various political campaigns, including Steve Francis’ run for Mayor in 2005 in which he nearly defeated Jerry Sanders.
Kerns is the owner of K Street Communications, a public relations consulting firm based in San Diego.
Steve Francis, businessman and entrepreneur, is a candidate for Mayor of San Diego. At the heart of his mayoral campaign is the desire to free San Diego from the grip of special interests and to restore fiscal integrity, ethics and transparency in city government. Francis, best known as co-founder and Chairman of AMN Healthcare (NYSE:AHS), has pledged that he will remain free from the influences of special interests by not accepting any political contributions from lobbyists, thus ensuring that the voices of everyday San Diegans will be heard.
