Johnny Cash praises new novel "The Dream of the Decade" from the grave
Press release from: Edward Victor
(openPR) - As Johnny Cash’s daughter, Rosanne Cash distances herself from the new Golden Globe-winning film about her father, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, Cash endorses a new novel, "The Dream of the Decade".
Author and award-winning former BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera journalist, Afshin Rattansi says that the endorsement came out of the blue.
"It was a long path to publication," Rattansi says, "and the book was given to quite a few singers and musicians on the way. Elvis Costello, I remember, never replied."
Cash did and said that "The Dream of the Decade - the London Novels" was a "great book."
"It was wonderful as the lyrics of Cash albeit tied to his music are words I've long admired," Rattansi says.
Reviewers have compared the book - which has been praised by the publishers of top literary names, Salman Rushdie, Ian McEwan and Martin Amis - to a latter day F. Scott Fitzgerald in its sweep, emotional intensity and charting of what could be called "The International Urban Dream" as opposed to Fitzgerald's doomed American one.
The book is actually four loosely connected novels which treat themes of wealth disparity, the media, terrorism and property through the eyes of a myriad male and female characters navigating taut emotional lived. Rattansi's characters "walk the line".

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
