When choosing a programme for a solo piano recital, Roberta Pili always combines works that build a musical and historical line as well as contrasting characters of the pieces.
The album is now available on several online music stores, on the artst´s website thepianist.com and through general distributor for Austria Gramola.

The CD recording will be officially presented on February 28th in Vienna at Gramola Dacapo,

Roberta Pili - "MIRRORS"
Triple CD Box
The first of the three CDs faces two masters of the piano literature, Bach and Beethoven, and their later works: The sixth Partita in e-minor BWV 830, and the thirtieth Piano Sonata in E-Major Op.109.
The second CD shows two interesting combinations of piano works, where “baroque” and “romanticism” are perfectly reflecting the theme, even using different characters in the variations - C.P.E. Bach Variations on the Theme
“La Folia” and S. Rachmaninoff Variations on a Theme of Corelli Op.42.
Where Handel wrote variations on his own theme in the Suite for Harpsichord No.1 in B-Flat Major HWV 434 (1733), Brahms was indeed inspired by his baroque melody “Air”, and composed a wonderful masterpiece, the Variations and Fugue on a theme of Handel Op.24.
These works can be listened in the third CD.
When Romanticism is facing Baroque, variations are facing a theme and musical structures are aesthetically reflected, and characters are contrasting and at the same time being similar to each other, we can really and truly speak about “Mirrors”…
