Artist on the Rise, Gary Pfaff, Heads Back to South Carolina Following His Tour with Edwin McCain
Press release from: Jabbermouth - Music
PR Agency: Jabbermouth PR
(openPR) - Atlanta, GA (February 21, 2008) - Coming off the release of his first live album (“Under the Influence Live”) and The Rock Boat VIII, Gary Pfaff is more excited than ever to get back on the road. He has a bit of business to finish in his hometown of Atlanta, GA – he is in the process of recording another album. In the midst of writing and recording the new record, Pfaff joined old friend Edwin McCain for a few tour dates through Georgia and North Carolina. Now he begins his solo tour once again – starting in South Carolina.
After years of battling the music industry’s advice to be something that he is not, Gary Pfaff has settled into his own niche. Pfaff has created a sound entirely his own that is equal parts rock, country, and pop. Growing up in Atlanta gave Pfaff an opportunity to get into the game at the early age of 15. Pfaff has been noted as a major influence by numerous artists, including J Records recording artist Michael Tolcher, who was quoted saying: "[he] was one of my first inspirations...I used to watch him mesmerize audiences with his hypnotic rhythm and 'wise beyond their years' songs before the boy could drive!"
Over the last 10 years, Pfaff has toured both on his own as well as supporting other major artists like: Corey Smith, The Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Lifehouse, and more! On New Years Eve he shared the stage with country superstars Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert where he received extraordinary praise from Rhubarb Jones (106.7FM DJ, Atlanta) and an invitation to play on-air.
While on tour in California last year, a Music Connection Magazine writer said: “Indeed, the unpredictable nature of his material, along with the exquisite craftsmanship of his songwriting, is so good that it's no exaggeration to put Pfaff in the same league as Ben Harper.” This year should be a promising year for Gary Pfaff – with a live album selling in advance and a new one on the way, he has much to look forward to.
Gary Pfaff will be playing in Greenville, SC on Thursday, March 5, 2008 at The Handlebar and then in Clemson, SC on Saturday, March 7, 2008 at Esso Club. Look for Pfaff in Greenville at Downtown Alive on July 26, 2008.
