CeBIT 2008: VidSoft shows first time PC-Videoconferencing in HD-Quality

The new VidSoft Version 1.9 is the first software only based full motion Desktop HD-Videoconferencing solution available. Offering a video resolution of 1280x720 pixel at 30 frames/second and compressed below one Megabit per second during parallel sending and receiving of HD-Video. Based on this, VidSoft delivers the optimum picture quality even at lower bandwidth. The Beta version of the new release will be shown for the first time to the public during CeBIT 2008 in Hanover/Germany in Hall 7, Booth A28 and will be offered to the market in May 2008.

With this new solution from VidSoft, Enterprises, System integrators or AV-Specialist will get an outstanding opportunity to implement a unique HD-Videoconferencing infrastructure for Desktops and Notebooks. As an example, a complete in-house solution for 10 users as a start configuration requires only an investment of far below 10.000 EURO. VidSoft version 1.9 with full motion HD-support offers a valid alternative for today’s hardware-based systems and allows now enjoying the benefits of HD-Videoconferencing for a much wider range of users.

Using the VidSoft server integrated MCU, Multipoint conferences with up to 10 users are very easy to set-up. All data packages are end-to-end encrypted, using the AES Standard and fulfil the highest security requirements. The solution does not only work with expensive HD-cameras, using most modern webcams like e.g. the Logitech Pro900, allowing minimum 15 pictures/second in HD-resolution, will work also. This gives the users fort he first time the chance to implement a professional HD-videoconferencing solution with minimum investments in additional hardware. With the Logitech webcam as an example, it will be below 100 EURO. Beside HD-Video, all integrated Data collaboration features (Applicationsharing, Desktopsharing, Documentsharing, Filetransfer) can be used in parallel and using separate displays for Data applications and the conference participants allows a real new experience of communication.
