ENGINEERING.com to Sell Creaform’s Handyscan 3D Laser Scanners to Education Market

02-14-2008 06:17 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: ENGINEERING.com

February 13, 2008, Toronto, ON - ENGINEERING.com [TSXV: EGN] and Creaform today announced a partnership that will give ENGINEERING.com the right to distribute Creaform’s line of Handyscan 3D™ laser scanners to the educational market in North America.

Creaform’s line of Handyscan 3D scanners represents the first portable, accurate and low cost handheld laser scanners on the market. These scanners help engineers improve their design and inspection capabilities through the manufacturing process, making them ideal for use in reverse engineering, inspection and analysis, and the creation of digital mock-ups.

“Engineering schools throughout North America have been looking for a way to acquire data from physical products to create 3D models,” said John Hayes, President of ENGINEERING.com. “The Handyscan is the first product we’ve seen that can fit the needs and the budgets of engineering schools.”

On February 18, 2008, ENGINEERING.com will begin distribution of the Handyscan 3D scanners through its website at ENGINEERING.com and through its sales and support center. Creaform will be responsible for installation, training and post sales support.

”We are delighted that ENGINEERING.com will be representing our Handyscan 3D line of scanners,” said Charles Mony, president of Creaform. “Our new scanning module for CATIA V5 makes this partnership a particularly good fit, since ENGINEERING.com is the only North American education distributor for CATIA - one of the most important CAD products in the world.”
