(openPR) - SCOTT COUNTY, MINNESOTA – February 12, 2008 - Simplifile announced today that Scott County, Minnesota will begin electronically recording (eRecording) land record documents submitted to the Recorder’s Office through the Simplifile eRecording Service effective March 4, 2008.
To introduce the public to eRecording, Scott County is hosting an eRecording kick-off meeting from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in room #205 of the Scott County Government Center located at 200 Fourth Avenue West in Shakopee, Minnesota. Simplifile representative, Dallen Miner, will be in attendance to demonstrate the system and conduct a question and answer session.
eRecording is the process of submitting, receiving, and processing, via a secure Internet site, documents for recording that have traditionally been delivered to the county for recording by runner, express mail, or courier service. eRecording offers customers the ability to simplify and accelerate all aspects of the recording process, dramatically shortening the Gap and improving auditability.
“The Scott County Recorder’s Office is pleased to work with Simplifile to provide eRecording services to our clients,” said County Recorder, Pat Boeckman. According to Boeckman, “We are continually evaluating ways to improve the quality of our services, and believe that eRecording enables us to more efficiently record documents, eliminate document filing errors, and actually increase document security—while at the same time, work with our private sector partners, like Simplifile, to improve turn-around times and increase efficiencies. eRecording customers will now have the ability to record and track the status of documents from the convenience of their offices, using a standard Web browser.”
Simplifile and Scott County Land Record Vendor, TriMin, worked together to integrate their respective eRecording and county archiving systems. This joint effort is the direct result of a recent contractual alliance between Simplifile and TriMin intended to provide TriMin-enabled Counties such as Scott County and their customers with access to industry-leading eRecording services. According to TriMin Government Solutions President Bill Mori, “TriMin is pleased to build on its strong relationship with Simplifile by expanding our cooperative eRecording solutions into Minnesota. Scott County is the first of our Minnesota customers to benefit from this relationship. We look forward to involving all our Minnesota eRecording counties in this expanded service very soon. It represents significantly more submission documents into their counties, thereby increasing the return on investment they have made in electronic recording. We are proud to team up with Scott County and Simplifile to bring this added value to the marketplace.”
More than a mere trend in land record document submission, eRecording is a government priority. Federal (ESIGN) and state legislation (UETA, URPERA) has established the legal basis for secure electronic recording, and dozens of states and counties are already eRecording today.
“Simplifile is thrilled to provide industry-leading eRecording services to the Scott County Recorder’s Office and their customers. By implementing eRecording, Recorder Pat Boeckman and her staff are taking proven steps to make the land record submission and recording process easier, more secure and cost-effective through the use of technology,” said Paul Clifford, President of Simplifile. “Based on our experience deploying eRecording solutions in counties nationwide—including counties in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and a number of other states—companies doing business with the Recorder’s Office will enjoy significant cost savings, productivity gains and enhanced filing and recording services by eRecording with Simplifile.”
Individuals and organizations that regularly file documents with Scott County are invited to contact the Recorder’s Office or Simplifile for more information on how to take advantage of Simplifile eRecording services.
