(openPR) - January 28, 2008 Chicago, IL – Zeus Capital Advisers and the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) have teamed up to host the first Islamic Finance conference in Chicago, IL. This half day event is scheduled for March 13, 2008 and will be hosted at the DePaul University campus located in downtown Chicago. “Chicago is becoming a hub for Islamic financial activity and is home to many institutions that are considered thought leaders in the arena. It only makes sense to create a forum so that these various organizations can educate the audience and collaborate on various efforts with each other” said Fawad Butt, managing partner at Zeus Capital Advisers.
The half day event will host many of the thought leaders in Islamic Finance in the U.S. The partial list of event sponsors includes Zeus Capital Advisers, Devon Bank, UIB Capital, Zayan Finance, Saturna Capital and University Bank. The proceeds from this event will help fund the Muslim Wealth study by ISPU.
For the first time, the Muslim wealth study will attempt to quantify and describe assets held by the U.S Muslim population. The focus of the study is to describe the behavior of Muslim individuals and families as it pertains to personal finances. The study will also attempt to measure the demand and adoption of Sharia compliant financial products, participants will be asked to specify the most needed/desirable Sharia compliant products and services unavailable in the U.S market place today. “This kind of first hand research data is necessary for organizations developing products for the Muslim population. The demand for such products is growing and we hope that the results of the study will validate assumptions made by institutions focused on the Muslim market” said Fawad Butt of Zeus Capital Advisers.
