Buffalo Technology intende conquistare il mercato dello storage su supporto ottico
Il prodotto più avanzato della gamma sarà l’unico sul mercato europeo a supportare sia la tecnologia Blu-ray (in modalità di lettura e scrittura) sia la tecnologia HD-DVD (in sola lettura). Sarà inoltre compatibile con i formati DVD esistenti ed accompagnato dal software Nero.
La facile installazione plug-and-play assicurerà una rapida e semplice connessione della periferica a PC e laptop. Il dispositivo sarà inoltre dotato della tecnologia Turbo USB proprietaria di Buffalo Technology.
Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager di Buffalo Technology, commenta: “Il conflitto sui formati dell’archiviazione ottica si è ulteriormente inasprito in seguito all’annuncio della Warner Bros riguardo al loro intento di adottare il Blu-ray, ma la battaglia non è ancora finita. Riteniamo che sia quindi necessario offrire ai consumatori un’opportunità di scelta tra Blu-ray e HD-DVD che garantisca, anche in futuro, la salvaguardia dei loro investimenti. Inoltre, beneficiando del nostro know-how e dei successi riscontrati nel campo dei dischi rigidi esterni e dello storage condiviso (NAS), desideriamo affermarci quale player di qualità in questo mercato emergente.”
La gamma includerà due ulteriori dispositivi. Il primo offrirà funzionalità di sola lettura per Blu-ray e HD-DVD, il secondo consentirà agli utenti di leggere e scrivere tradizionali DVD ad un prezzo vantaggioso.
Tutti i prodotti saranno disponibili in Italia dalla metà di marzo presso i distributori di Buffalo Technology in Italia (Alias, Digits, Executive, Esprinet).
