New features and processor support of Wind River Workbench 3.0, On-Chip Debugging shortens design cycles and time-to-market

Wind River Systems announced the availability of its JTAG embedded device development toolset for mitigating the complexities of on-chip debugging, Wind River Workbench 3.0, On-Chip Debugging. The new version includes support for key new processors in the mobile device market and introduces new features designed to make device hardware and software development and debug simpler and more intuitive.

Key features of the new Workbench 3.0, On-Chip Debugging that offer a comprehensive development and on-chip debug environment include:

- Support for key mobile device processors, including the ARM Cortex™-A8 processor with NEON™ instruction set, Freescale i.MX 27, Marvell PXA 300/310/320 application processors, and TI TMS320DM644x DaVinci family.
- Debugging with Wind River Linux Real Time Core, enabling developers to debug the kernel, user mode applications and real-time applications that are using Wind River's Linux Real Time Core.
- Open environment capabilities, allowing customers developing ARM processor-based systems to use Workbench, On-Chip Debugging with additional industry leading compilers and hence to tailor tool chains to best meet specific needs and to optimize the workflow.
- Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Support: Workbench is the leading on-chip debugging development environment fully integrated with Eclipse and continues to enhance the IDE by adding views and capabilities to Workbench's Eclipse based environment.

Wind River Workbench 3.0, On-Chip Debugging is available in various hardware, software and bundle options under Wind River's Enterprise and Perpetual Licensing Business Models.
