(openPR) - London UK 3rd January 2008, Telecoms operator WiFiMobile has started 2008 with an announcement that they have now opened up their network for the mass landline market as well as all mobile handsets.
This move is achieved with the introduction of Local Access Numbers currently available in 14 countries, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the USA.
Customers (consumer and business) are able to register as many numbers as they wish including mobile, home and office landlines to use these access numbers to call destinations such as the USA or Australia for around 1p per minute, with billing increments of only 6 seconds and no connection charges.
The company state that these numbers are standard local landlines which are included in any price plan inclusive minutes. The minimal international charge is paid to WiFiMobile in the form of a Prepaid top up system available at the company’s website.
A secure customer portal is used to log in to view real time call records, register other numbers and purchase credits.
Owners of Nokia E and N Series smartphones can also download mobile VoIP software oneFone to make very cheap calls when in range of Wi-Fi. Calls to other online oneFone users are free regardless of worldwide location.
CEO Gerry O’Prey says “The global landline market is immense and this move makes cheap long distance calling as simple as it can get with all numbers, mobile and landline in just one account”.
WiFiMobile were founded in 2002 and have offices in the US and UK. In 2004 the company achieved status of a Forum Nokia S60 3rd Edition Featured Developer, one of only 23 recognized worldwide.
VoIP client oneFone is a self developed and wholly owned application and provides free long distance calls as well as converting select Nokia devices into extensions of corporate IP IBX systems. The company is poised to achieve phenomenal growth in the next year in this rapidly evolving market.
