Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund, Baden-Baden

After two years in the US, on June 27 2015, the Kunstmsueum Gehrke-Remund reopened in Baden-Baden with the exhibition Frida’s Photos.
The photo exhibition was scheduled to last 6 months and to be followed by the replica paintings exhibition: “Renaissance Beauties”. Due to great visitors request and the popularity of Frida Kahlo, the Frida’s photos exhibition has been extended twice, till September 30 2016.
The exhibition concept is in line with the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund innovative art model: to show the works of one artist in the context of the artist’s life and time. This model, already proven successful since 2009 with the exhibition of Frida Kahlo replica paintings, is extremely well accepted by the exhibition visitors who record their experiences in the Museum Guest Book: “It was the very best! Thank you for making this special museum!”, “Un gran placer ver un poco de la maravilla cultura mexicana y de una gran pintora como lo due Frida Kahlo”.
The innovative model of the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund will be presented by its Chief Curator in November 2016 in Kuwait at the Global Conference: Heading Global 2016, Leading the Change through Knowledge Economy to build better Future.

The exhibition Frida’s Photos will last till September 30 2016 in Baden-Baden.

For the first time in a European museum, two extraordinary pieces will be shown …
The pieces are two “Resplandor”, head covers as Frida Kahlo used to wear and as she painted in two of her paintings. “Being able to exhibit the two “Resplandor” is of high cultural and artistic value, to our knowledge no museum in Europe has even shown such pieces before”, said Mr. Gehrke, Museum Director.
