Taupo Freemasons new project set to save lives

One of the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organisations has begun a new project ‘Taupo PLB Hire’ and it’s set to save the lives of both locals and visitors to the central north island in New Zealand.
Taupo PLB Hire is run as a not for profit organisation and hire out the latest ACR locator beacons with built-in GPS locator chips. Made from durable ABS high impact/ high visibility plastic to withstand the rugged New Zealand terrain. At this stage the service has six units with a personal carry case and working emergency strobe for hire.
David Henningon Master of lodge Kaimanawa says “The Lodge started seeing a real need for this service about 6 months ago and through the hard work of its members has got the service up and running. We all know that PLB’s can save lives and I am sure the community will benefit for this project”
Beacon hire starts at only $10 per day making the service very affordable for the public. Taupo PLB Hire offers free hire to both local and visiting community groups including Schools, Scout Groups, Girl Guides, Kohanga Reo and more ensuring this organisations have more money to spend on their primary objectives as well as keeping its members safe.
