Convenient Remote Desktop Control with Linux

Remote desktop software AnyDesk with new user interface and enhanced functionality now also available as a Linux version

Stuttgart/Germany, 08.06.2016 – The new Linux version 2.3.1 of remote desktop software AnyDesk (http://anydesk.com) is now available for download. The interface has been significantly reworked and more elegantly rendered in order to make it more user-friendly for Linux users. The look and feel is now on a par with the Windows version, and users benefit from additional ease of use, including audio transmission. In this context, the functions have also been equalized among the various software versions.

Moreover, a problem that sometimes occurred when AnyDesk was installed via the graphical installer KDE has been eliminated. Some dependencies previously had to be installed manually, which could result in difficulties with the startup of the X-Server. Other improvements include the integration of a new keyboard protocol. This means that users who do not use a German keyboard will notice an improvement.

AnyDesk makes it very simple for users to remotely control computers on the Internet and, for example, access their own home or office computer from anywhere. In the professional sector, AnyDesk can be used to support remote maintenance or for online collaboration in teams and workgroups. In this case, the most secure encryption standards are applied to data transfer.

The special DeskRT video codec ensures higher refresh rates and low latency compared to many other common remote desktop tools. AnyDesk is therefore ideally suited for spontaneously connecting to remote computers for quickly providing support through the graphical interface.

The latest version 2.3.1 of AnyDesk for Linux can be downloaded from http://anydesk.com/platforms either as a program package or as a .tar.gz file for manual installation.

Private users can use AnyDesk free of charge ("AnyDesk Free"). A 30-day cost-free trial period is available to commercial users for evaluation purposes. For self-employed individuals, companies and other commercial users, AnyDesk licenses are available starting at EUR 60 or 180 per year as part of the FlexPlan. Conditions for AnyDesk Enterprise with your own network appliance are available upon request. VAT and local taxes may apply.
