Codecs Unlimited and Elecard Announce Strategic Partnership

Elecard Products to Power CU Product Line

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA and Tomsk, Russia – December 14, 2007 – Codecs Unlimited (CU), a provider of video and audio compression technologies, and Elecard Devices CJSC, a leading developer of codecs and products for digital video, today announced a strategic partnership. Under the agreement, the core of CU’s product line will be powered by Elecard technology, and CU will become a preferred distributor of Elecard products.
CU’s Elecard-based products will include codec SDKs for Windows, Mac, Linux and other platforms, as well as a full line of end-user encoding, playback and quality analysis software. Elecard firmware and reference designs will also be used in the new CU TV™ line of hardware encoders, video-on-demand servers and IP streamers.
“We are proud to partner with Elecard,” said CU Sales Director Mark Bailey. “For almost 20 years, the Elecard name has been synonymous with quality. Our new association will allow us to offer the best possible products to our clients.”
According to Andrey Posdnyakov, the president of Elecard, the company in partnership with CU plans to seriously increase its presence in the North American market. “CU are top notch professionals in the field of digital video, and we are proud that CU chose Elecard to be its primary supplier of codecs and solutions.
