BuyTestSeries.com launches Cash on Delivery for all its users

Pune based Talentick EduSolutions Pvt Limited, which owns BuyTestSeries.com, announced that it had launched its Cash on Delivery feature for all its users. Through this feature, students from over 21,000 pin codes will be able to order eLearning products and pay when the products are delivered to them.

Commenting on this enhancement, Shirish Bhatt (CTO) mentioned, “To ensure flawless execution we have tied up with reputed logistic vendor. To give an idea of the demand for CoD, we had our first CoD order within the first few hours of the beta launch.”

eCommerce in India has seen phenomenal growth primarily from Tier II cities and rural areas due to the Cash On Delivery. In these areas credit/debit card penetration and trust for online purchases is low so CoD works out as a good alternative for the customers. As of today, major eCommerce retailers have 60-80% of their rural sales contributed by CoD. With shipping cost hovering around Rs 100 per shipment and returns hovering at about 20%, making CoD profitable is a continuous process.

“As per our experience, quality products always give better results. For students on a tight budget we have tests starting from as low as 25 Rs”, says Gaurav Golwalkar (CEO) as he goes on to explain how they are looking to minimize returns and ensure profitability on CoD.

The Indian eLearning and coaching class industry is pegged at over $80 billion. With over 23 crore people in the 18-30 years bracket, the market potential is expected to be even higher. The EdTech industry in India has seen a lot of activity of late as the entire learning landscape is rapidly evolving. The use of technology is helping lower marginal costs for education products phenomenally. As more players and investment enters this space, it is expected to see a lot of disruptions in the coming decade.
