PLANO, TEXAS – December 13, 2007 – Apex Emergency Center, one of North Dallas’ most comprehensive emergency care facilities, will open in The Texas Clinic at Prestonwood at Plano Parkway and Marsh Lane in Plano on Monday, December 17. Staffed by seasoned, hospital-based residency-trained and certified emergency medicine physicians, Apex Emergency Center will offer services comparable to those found in hospital emergency rooms, but with a commitment to seeing patients quickly, seeing fewer patients and spending more time with each patient in pleasant, attractive surroundings.

Furthering its goal of providing any service that can be provided by a hospital-based emergency room, Apex is equipped with digital (fast) x-ray, an in-department lab, in-department ultrasound and even a 128-slice CT – one of the few in Texas available outside of a hospital - capable of providing definitive films of the whole body in a few minutes. The center also provides expert repair of almost any laceration and can set and splint most fractures. Apex physicians are trained and equipped to handle all medical emergencies including (but not limited to): Sports Injuries, Chest Pain and Heart Attacks , Acute Abdominal Pain, Work Related Injuries, Allergic Reactions, Altered Mental Status, Asthma and Breathing Problems, Burns, Dehydration, Foreign Body Removal, Overdoses, Pneumonia, Rashes, Insect Bites, Stings, Seizures, Simple and Complex Lacerations, Sprains and Broken Bones, Bone Setting and Splinting, Pain Control and Head Injuries.
