Christine L. Sihag

Masterfully crafted by C.L. Sihag, ‘The Atheist's Mistake: A Biblical Perspective on Truth’ is comprised of 125 thought-provoking poems that unearth an entire spectrum of humanity’s eclectic, but spiritually self-destructive belief systems, along with their monumental misconceptions. Describing it as “a myth-buster of a book for all those who think the world has gone mad - all because of religion”, Sihag’s atypical collection of lucid stanza-structured poems exposes the cold logic of atheism, the fundamental limitations of religion and how the two schools of thought are actually strikingly similar. It’s the perfect read for all those who are still seeking life’s truths…

For Immediate Release

North Bethesda, MD – After decades of being a Biblical scholar, Christine L. Sihag shines a critical spotlight upon one monumental “mistake”, an erroneous assumption that most people in the world make – that religion is the way to God. But the “truth” of the “Biblical perspective” is that God and religion are not one of that same, and being devoutly religious is as big a “mistake” as being an atheist. This is the singular most important message of the entire Bible - one that the entire world is missing. The Bible’s “salvation” message for mankind actually began in the Bible’s beginning book of Genesis, with more than one foreshadowing of a need for the justice and atonement, which only God Himself could and would provide. But Christendom has made the Old and New Testaments’ pure “salvation” message into a myriad of even more religious factions.

Sihag also takes a more observational and pragmatic approach to the illusive topic of the divine, and she warns of the spiritual pitfalls of pigeon-holing one’s self as a “believer” or as an “atheist”. In fact, she candidly asserts in one poem; “The atheist leaps to the most logical conclusion...A religionist loses all perspective in his confusion.” In short, belief and an approach to the divine are actually firmly rooted in Biblical guidance that is surprising straightforward, but requires a more open mind and heart.

In her first book, Sihag explores an entire syllabus of mankind’s misinterpretations related to belief and spirituality. The result is a collection unlike anything else on the market - one that clears the air of perception surrounding some of life’s toughest questions, such as the purpose of life - all from a heart-felt, but Biblical perspective. Many of the poems are also based upon true stores. This book leaves readers with a better ability to think more critically about their viewpoints regarding faith.
Synopsis of ‘The Atheist's Mistake: A Biblical Perspective on Truth’:

A MYTH BUSTER OF A BOOK for all those who think the world has gone mad - all because of religion! But don't judge this book by its cover – because it actually aims most of its critical efforts at the religionists of the world. It illustrates the erroneous deductions that most people make, not only with regard to religion and atheism - but also about other widely-accepted notions. And it does not set out to “convert atheists” - but rather, the book maintains that the “mistake” of the atheistic perspective is not that atheists do not believe in God, but that they typically look to other people, particularly religious people as their standard of rightness. And, of course – they’re disappointed, all because of the hypocrisy that naturally abounds in the strict legalism of all religious practice. Jesus pointed this out in his day when he rebuked the Pharisees, who were the religious leaders of ancient Israel. Thus, the truth of the "Biblical perspective" is that being a devout religionist can also be one of life’s biggest mistakes. Hence, an even bigger question remains – why does all of humanity continually fail in its attempts to be holy, just and equitable?

“You name it, my book dives right into the deep-end of all the distortions surrounding the topics that make up humanity’s belief systems,” explains Sihag. “From atheism and devout religiousness to the meaning of truth, the existence of both God and evil, life after death, human consciousness, and even paranormal phenomenon – I throw it all out there for consideration and examination.”

Since its release, readers have come out in force with rave reviews. Sihag’s book was recently featured on The Author’s Show, with an online radio interview. And Kirkus Reviews comments, “Sihag’s work actually harkens back to the qualities of ancient Hebrew wisdom writings, such as Ecclesiastes. In eschewing simple, black-and-white versions of truth accepted by society at large and, instead, considering the ambiguities of life and accepting them for what they are, Sihag shares a worldview and style dating back to the time of Solomon.”

Mercy J. Joseph adds, “I picked up this book not just because it was written by a friend, but because I'd always been struck by the uniqueness of her perspective. And the book did not disappoint! It was packed with wisdom and aphorisms for every age, for every occasion, for the big questions and for the little ones! And exuberant - close to around a hundred and thirty poems in profuse abundance!”

About the Author:

Christine L. Sihag writes traditional, stanza-structured rhyming poetry, but chooses topics that have long been entangled in controversy. Then, she poses a perspective that represents a discerning departure from what abounds in popular opinion. From decades of being a Biblical scholar, she offers insights into both Old and New Testament wisdom, with clues to universal questions such as, "Why do we die?" Her lucid poems set out to tackle tough subjects such as the meaning of truth, the genesis of law and justice, the origins of evil, the reason for suffering and death - alongside the plethora of human freewill, the generous entitlement of choice, and the great privilege of prayer. Her writing also pointedly engages the disparate mindsets of both the atheist and the staunch religionist, while intermixing both contemporary and ancient viewpoints.

She collaboratively draws from two additional realms of expertise for writing her poetry. From a decades-long career as an expert in the field of Federal contract law, she employs a keen ability to select each word to fulfill a specific purpose - a skill required for writing government regulation and policy. She also infuses her poetry with a delightful musical quality, elicited from having been a life-long classical pianist. Her poetry is thus carefully composed of verses that convey profound points to consider, along with a lilt of melodious syntax - the art of writing music with words. All such qualities make for a fascinating and challenging reading experience.
