(openPR) - Secured by web wins the Milestone Innovation Award 2007. The provider of digital surveillance, control and security solutions has been honoured for its enormous innovative power in developing software solutions. The Secured by web system is composed of the in-house software “CallNet” and the Annuncicom 100 and Barionet components of the Swiss IP specialist Barix. Milestones Systems, the world market leader in the area of open platform IP video software for security processes, bestows the award annually on especially innovative companies in the security market.
Secured by web from Holland provides complete solutions for remote surveillance and control of grounds and buildings from any location. The core of the system is the software “CallNet”, in which the Barix components Annuncicom 100 for IP intercom and Barionet for remote control are seamlessly integrated. CallNet provides the user interface for the user in the alarm control room and all others involved in the security process, such as mobile staff of security companies or the police. In the event of an alarm the software prescribes all the steps necessary for the user. The user can view recorded and live pictures from the surveillance cameras, make announcements, remotely control windows, doors and lighting or telephone others responsible for security. In addition, the software logs all alarm actions, records the camera pictures viewed and sends a message to the person in charge of supervision. The Barix Annuncicom 100 permits audio surveillance with an alarm signal and announcements in any area desired including intercom (IP intercom). Barix Barionet takes care of the remote control of the surveillance cameras, windows, doors and lighting of the building guarded. Both network-based and independent components are equipped with a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface while communication occurs via the existing TCP/IP networks. A web server for each is integrated for control and configuration.
“Apart from their technical characteristics, the Barix products convinced us above all with their flexibility and reliability. In addition, they’re extremely cost-effective,” emphasises Bart Sebregts, director of Secured by web.
Currently, the Amsterdam City Museum (Stedelijk Museum) relies on the Secured by web security solution. The building site there is monitored by CallNet software as well as by Barix Barionet and Annuncicom devices. However, the security solutions are capable of even more flexible use: in the big cargo cranes in Rotterdam harbour they permit duplex communication and making announcements, whilst in the solar-powered battery systems of a major installation company they manage automated remote measurement.
