Impelsys, a world leader in publishing and learning technology solutions, and Ontotext, an innovation leader in Semantic Technology, today announced the availability of an integrated technology offering that adds new perspectives to content publishing and enables smart content authoring, discovery, repurposing and monetization for publishers and eLearning providers.

Introducing a semantic layer to Impelsys iPublishCentral infrastructure with Ontotext GraphDB and Dynamic Semantic Publishing Platform allows publishers and content provides to benefit from semantically enriched metadata at both downstream and upstream of their production workflow and value chain, and turn their content into Smart Content.

The partnership will open the doors to numerous opportunities for both parties to help their customer base of publishers, learning providers and enterprises to better manage and utilize digital content:

Impelsys offers their flagship digital content delivery infrastructure, iPublishCentral which can support dissemination of basic PDF/EPUB based eBooks to complex SCORM compliant courseware modules. Impelsys’ content engineering and technology services combined with Ontotext powerful semantic capabilities will bring to market a comprehensive digital content management solution.

Ontotext, on the other hand, brings to the table GraphDB semantic database and vast experience in Semantic Technology for publishers that help content creators automate their workflows; streamline production, curation and reuse of content leveraging various types of metadata; and provide richer context, relevant content recommendations and advertising to consumers, while significantly expanding Ontotext reach in publishing and other key, high-growth markets.
