Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 25 March 2016 – Cisco announced that it is participating in the second edition of Internet of Things Expo 2016 (IoTX), which will be held from March 29-31, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. As the platinum sponsor of the event, Cisco will demonstrate ‘real life’ smart city scenarios as well as showcase its world-class IoT solutions including the Cisco Digital Ceiling framework at the technology exhibition.

Cisco Middle East’s Chief Technology Officer, Osama Al-Zoubi, will deliver a keynote titled ‘Limitless possibilities, imminent disruption: igniting innovation and exponential growth through Digital Transformation’ on March 30, 2016 at 12:45 pm. Shukri Eid, Cisco’s Customer Solutions Director, will speak on ‘What can business do about their biggest IoT vulnerabilities?’ at a panel discussion on March 29, 2016 at 3.15 pm.

“After our successful participation in the inaugural edition of IoTX last year, Cisco is happy to participate in the event once again. Digitization and the IoT hold enormous potential to drive new experiences, cost savings, and revenues in every enterprise and IoTX 2016 is an ideal platform for Cisco to demonstrate how IoT technologies are playing an increasingly important role in improving the quality of life today, and for future generations,” said Shukri Eid, Customer Solutions Director, Cisco - Middle East, Africa, Russia & CIS.

At IoTX 2016, Cisco will showcase the key business architectures and solutions that will be important for digital transformation including Security, Cloud, Data Center and Analytics, Mobility, Application Centric Infrastructure and Collaboration. The company will also demonstrate various ‘real life’ Smart City scenarios including Smart Energy, Smart Transportation, Smart Parking, Retail, Healthcare and Remote Diagnostics through video content and an animated city display. Cisco’s partners, Alpha Data and Philips, will also showcase their IoT solutions at the Cisco stand.

“Our recently launched Cisco Digital Ceiling framework is set to become the next frontier in the IoT. Digital Ceiling converges multiple building networks—lighting, heating, and cooling, IP video, IoT sensors, and much more—through a secure and intelligent network platform, thus unlocking new experiences and efficiencies for workers, lowering facilities operating costs and putting sensor data at the organization’s fingertips, so they can gain deeper insight into their environment to make better business decisions. Digitization and the IoT hold enormous potential to drive new experiences, cost savings, and revenues in every enterprise. Cisco Digital Ceiling can help businesses start capitalizing on it in their buildings today,” said Osama Al-Zoubi, Chief Technology Officer – Cisco Middle East.

Cisco’s Digital Ceiling framework and solution unleashes the power of the IoT by linking building services over a single, converged IP network. It transforms the unobtrusive infrastructure in ceilings across the building’s facilities into a secure, distributed, and standards-based architecture that delivers building intelligence at the edge of the network. The result is a building that is not only smart, but also is seamlessly and securely connected. With Cisco Digital Ceiling, organizations can improve the efficiency and sustainability of their buildings and manage them more effectively. They can use the same platform to deliver highly personalized user experiences that improve the productivity, safety, and comfort of building occupants.

Cisco’s executives and technology experts will be available at stand B-65 in hall 6 to meet with customers, demonstrate their latest innovative technologies and share their global IoE and Smart Cities success stories.
