ASM ADDS FURTHER SAD-H SEMINARS

11-23-2007 01:32 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Agency Sector Management

The freight industry’s provider of leading edge software, Agency Sector Management (ASM), has announced a series of additional SAD Harmonisation (SAD-H) training seminars in response to significant interest from freight industry professionals.

The one-day seminars are in addition to a series recently held at ASM’s Middlesex headquarters and one in Manchester. The additional seminars will be run in the East Midlands, Glasgow, Belfast, Heathrow, Stansted and Bristol.

“We have been very pleased at the response to our in-house seminars, with interest shown not only from staff who actually fill in the boxes, but also from staff who just want to know the full implications of the new SAD-H forms. Demand has been such that we have extended the list of locations to additional centres,” says ASM chairman Peter MacSwiney.

He adds: “Our training seminars support companies in their migration to the new system by helping them to gain a thorough understanding of the new formats and the software that underpins them.”

The ASM SAD-H training seminars address in detail all major changes to declarations box by box, how these changes are reflected in the company’s GeMS (Global E-cargo Management System) software and commonly completed entries.

The planned dates and the locations for the seminars are as follows: East Midlands – November 20th, Glasgow – November 28th, Heathrow – December 5th and 6th, Belfast – December 11th. Dates for Stansted and Bristol are still being finalised.

SAD Harmonisation is a mandated requirement across the EU and involves major changes to Customs Declarations in terms of the new declarations and information required. SAD H came into effect on October 1, 2007 and HMRC is allowing dual running of both old and new type Customs declarations until midnight on January 20th 2008.

Earlier this year, ASM released Version 11.1 of GeMS, with all the SAD H Customs functionality in place, giving users the time and opportunity to experience the new software and familiarise their staff with the new procedures as they are implemented.
