Blueslice Eliminates Roaming Costs with Unique Multi-IMSI Technology
Press release from: Blueslice Networks
(openPR) - Canadian emerging star powers fourth successful commercial deployment of ngHLR-based roaming solution
Montreal, Canada, November 21, 2007 -- Blueslice Networks, the leading provider of multi-profile subscriber management solutions for the Mobile, VoIP, FMC, and M2M markets, announced today that four of its customers have now commercially deployed Multi-IMSI technology, integrated into the ngHLR 3000™, a next generation Home Location Register.
Multi-IMSI is a technology that enables mobile subscribers to significantly reduce sky-high roaming charges when traveling outside of their home country. With the Blueslice Multi-IMSI capable Home Location Register, mobile users are given a local identity everywhere they travel and are therefore seen as local subscribers instead of roamers. Operators can now provide technology-based cost reduction, instead of relying on limited arbitrage arrangements.
Completely transparent to the existing networks and to the user, Multi-IMSI provides savings without the hassle of having to switch SIM cards, a current practice of frequent travelers. It is part of the larger Advanced Low Cost Roaming suite, including Virtual Numbers, another feature available on the Blueslice ngHLR 3000™ that provides an unlimited number of local phone numbers to any user, for true global reachability.
In 2005, Blueslice Networks filed a patent application for Multi-IMSI capabilities integrated into the HLR. Since then, several innovative mobile operators such as United Mobile have successfully launched the service, enabling tremendous roaming cost savings.
Between November and February 2008, United Mobile President Sven Donhuysen and investor Morten Lund will embark on a worldwide tour aboard a single engine Pilatus PC-12 plane promoting United Mobile’s international coverage. They will be handing out free SIM cards for their new service United Mobile+, which offers +44 UK-based numbering, free incoming calls in many countries, and low cost calls anywhere in the world. Follow the trip at www.smilingflyer.com.
