Hamburg, March 8th, 2016. Four out of the top 15 online fashion retailers in Germany are using Picalike´s visual technology to turn visitors into customers displaying more relevant product recommendations. For the first time Picalike delivered more than 100.000.000 product recommendations based on visual similarity in just one month.
Picalike uses proprietary visual technology to significantly enhance online stores conversion rates, achieve higher shopping cart values and lower drop-out rates via a superior recommendation engine. This is accomplished by combining the information of the shops data feed with visual similarity analysis on the basis of product images and real-time click behavior of online shoppers. Common use cases for the unique technology are product detail pages, newsletters as well as individualization and personalization of category listing pages.
This procedure is particularly suitable for the online shops selling fashion, shoes, accessories, furniture and decoration. Online fashion retailers such as Otto, Bonprix, Esprit, Baur, Sheego, Fashionhype and many other are using the visual technology for more relevant product recommendations.
"Based on artificial intelligence and self-learning algorithms our software recognizes colors, shape and cut as well as patterns and textures.“ explains Sebastian Kielmann, founder and managing director of the German technology vendor Picalike. "Our customers' success proves our unique approach. Offering visually similar items in product recommendations increases the purchase probability significantly.”

Picalike is a leading software vendor in visual technology and search. Its services supports online shops and marketplaces in optimizing their shop performance, especially conversion rate and average order size. The relevance of product recommendations in fashion and furniture e-commerce is significantly increasing through visually similar and matching items. Its customers include online stores and marketplaces of different sizes like Otto, Bonprix, Esprit, Weare, Fashionhype etc.
