Channel Computing and MK Associates Today announce an unique training course for Businesses in Cornwall, teaching them to: “Learn how to Profit from the Internet”.

The course will be held at The Maritime Skills Centre, Falmouth Docks, Cornwall, UK, on December 7th 2007.

This one-day course is aimed at Business Owners who would like to increase the value that they are getting from the web, as well as people who would like to get started in e-commerce.

The initial premise is that most businesses now have a web site, yet the most common type is the one with few visitors and no sales. Many had hoped for more when they signed up for their first site, yet still seek to understand why the riches of the web elude them.

The course will cover the following topics:
• How to driving targeted search traffic to your web site.
• How to convert visitors into loyal customers, and increase their “life time value”.
• The potential benefits of good use of the web, mapping out a process by which you can exploit them.
• Avoiding the 10 common pitfalls of commissioning a web site.
• The benefits of integrating the web into your business, and how this can help you increase your profitability.
• Strategies you can use yourself (without having to hire expensive professionals) to dramatically increase your visitor numbers and sales.
• Methods that webmasters are using to propel their sites to top search rankings.
• Some important legalities involving your web site.
• Analysing the traffic to your site, and using it to increase sales.
• Use PPC marketing for immediate results, and to discover which words sell.

HOW DID THE COURSE COME ABOUT?
The idea for the course came about recently when Channel Computing undertook to assist Mike Kevern with finding the terms that would bring the most traffic to his new web site. Mike presented Peter Graves with a list of phrases describing his business, and after some analysis Pete told him that these phrases were searched for 8000 times a day on Google uk. However there were 210 million web sites competing for the same terms, so the chances of his site being found were almost nil.
After further research Pete presented a list of related terms yielding 7000 searches per day. However with only 21,000 competing sites an average of only three results per page would have shown up in Google for each term. This raises the reasonable expectation of recieving 1/3 of 7000 searches each day: some 2300 web site visitors per day. Most of us would be happy to achieve that.

QUOTES:
Peter Graves: “Mike was so impressed with the power of the information that we had at our fingertips that he wanted to start a course straight away”, said Pete.
“He wanted to get his clients on to it immediately. I don’t think that many business people yet understand how to tap into what is available to them now via the net, and how easy some of it is to harness in your favour. This is what we will teach on the course.”

Mike Kevern said “Businesses are facing the fact that retail sales are static, while on-line sales are growing at 30.1% in North America, and 39.6% in Europe. The reason that I wanted to put this course on for our clients is that it answers the question: How can I benefit from this trend?”

COURSE DETAILS:
The course costs £99.00 plus VAT. Registration will be at 9.15am on Friday 7th December, at the Helford Room at the Maritime Training Centre in Falmouth Docks. Places are restricted to 16 to enable the trainers to focus on the requirements of each candidate. Refreshments and a light lunch are included.
