combit receives Big Data Leader and Big Data Rising Star Germany awards

Constance, Germany, 2015-11-09 – combit received not just one but two awards as part of the independent Big Data Vendor Benchmark Study 2016 conducted by the Experton Group. The software vendor from Konstanz made waves in the field of data aggregation, earning the title of "Big Data Leader Germany". According to the study, leaders are companies that "have a highly attractive product and service offering and a very strong market and competitive position. […] They can be regarded as opinion leaders, providing strategic impulses to the market. combit achieved a leader position, due to the multiple data formats that can be processed."

Furthermore, combit received the title of "Big Data Rising Star Germany" in the Visualization/Dashboard category. Rising Stars are companies which "have [...] made a remarkable entry into the market [...], or provide a highly attractive technology offering; therefore they can be expected to reach the leader quadrant within the next 6 to 12 months." In this respect, the study focused particularly on the visualization options from a large number of different data sources. "The company's strengths within this category include the capability to visualize data from multiple sources and to distribute information to a larger group of involved users, as opposed to traditional BI/BA solutions." The Rising Star award is particularly notable, as the title was only awarded 6 times among the 100 competitors assessed.

The Big Data Vendor Benchmark 2016 study was carried out for the third time this year, after previous studies in 2014 and 2015. The goal of the Experton Group is a Germany-wide, independent comparison of providers in the big data sector. General assessment criteria of the study included strategy & vision, technology & competency, and the price-performance ratio of the big data solutions. A total of 284 participants were included in the benchmark study, of which only 100, divided into 10 quadrants, made it to the final assessment.
