Suzuki chooses Visual Rules - Secure and Transparent Data Transformation in conjunction with SAP Application

10-30-2007 06:32 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Innovations Softwaretechnologie GmbH

Bensheim, Immenstaad, 30 October 2007 – The German subsidiary of Suzuki International Europe, part of the Suzuki Motor Corporation – world leader in minicars and ranked number 12 among automobile manufacturers worldwide – has chosen Visual Rules for its Business Rules Management System (BRMS).

Secure and Transparent Data Transformation in conjunction with SAP Application

Suzuki Europe is launching a SAP system for financial bookkeeping. One challenge facing the company's IT department has been to find the best means to consolidate efficiently their sensitive data from legacy systems (marketing, parts management, guarantees) while still ensuring quality as it is transferred to SAP. The solution was to introduce a Business Rules Management (BRM) system and involve the bookkeeping experts directly in the consolidation process.

Visual Rules – Collaboration Platform for Business and IT
Although IT had decided to rely strictly on open source software, part of application development was to be implemented using a commercial software tool. In the end, the decision went to Visual Rules BRMS from Innovations Softwaretechnologie. Visual Rules impressed decision makers in business as well as IT as the most intuitive BRMS.

Today, business rules for the correct tranformation of data in the SAP system are modeled jointly by the business departments involved and IT. Albert Kranyak, who as manager ICT development Europe is responsible for the project, stated, "In this project Visual Rules is our communications foundation for the business experts and the members of IT. Close cooperation is only possible at all using the visual modeling in Visual Rules.“

The goal of integrating the business experts directly is to minimize iteration cycles between business and IT and to accelerate significantly the IT project.
