Sans Digital Introduces 8TB iSCSI Storages: EliteRAID ER104I and MobileRAID MR4I

Press release from: Sans Digital

Santa Fe Springs, CA – October 26, 2007 – Sans Digital, a leading manufacturer of high performance storage subsystems, today introduced EliteRAID ER104I and MobileRAID MR4I, revolutionary expandable 4 bay iSCSI rackmount and tower solutions.

The EliteRAID ER104I is a 1U 4 bay rackmount unit designed to allow the expansion of up to eight hard drives with Sans Digital ES104T, MS4T, MS2T1 or other eSATA JBOD units. Like the ER104I, the MobileRAID MR4I is an expandable iSCSI unit in a tower format that is designed with portability in mind. Both units could be used as Direct Attached Storage (DAS) by directly connecting to a computer for storage expansion, or they could used as Storage Area Network (SAN) storage by connecting to computers using TCP/IP Gigabit Ethernet network. Gigabit Ethernet network is readily available and is relatively less expensive than Fibre Channel equipment. Therefore, iSCSI would be an ideal solution for SAN applications such as database, e-mails, files and virtualization storage applications. Both units are created with hot-swappable hard drive trays for easy upgrade and trouble-shooting, and are compatible with the latest 1TB hard drives. In addition to RAID 5, Mirroring (RAID 1) and Stripping (RAID 0), the ER104I and MR4I also support RAID 6 to protect against up to two hard drive failures. Utilizing both SATA I and SATA II host interfaces, and dual gigabit Ethernet port with up to 200MB/s transfer rate, the ER104I and MR4I are guaranteed to achieve the best performance with fail-safe file protection. With up to 4TB of storage capacity that can be easily expanded up to 8TB, the ER104I and MR4I are perfect for any application that requires a flexible and portable storage solution.

“The Sans Digital iSCSI products can be easily integrated with Windows, Linux, and especially with the increasing iSCSI usage in Mac OS X environment,” stated Grandy Chen, Sans Digital’s Executive Vice President. “The ER104I and MR4I allow hosts to easily connect to remote drives over standard Ethernet connections, and at the same time, provide add-on options for future expansions when more storage spaces are needed.” More product details are available on the Sans Digital website: http://www.sansdigital.com/eliteraid/er104i.html and http://www.sansdigital.com/mobileraid/mr4i.html.
