Press release from: arago GmbH

• "Technical refinements make the newest AutoPilot virtual colleague more efficient and easier to maintain," says arago CEO Chris Boos

• Improvements to the Cockpit enable customization of the user interface

• A new screen shows users each step of the AutoPilot solution

• The AutoPilot Installer simplifies the installation process and uses the "installation dialog" between the IT professional and the machine to build up knowledge of the IT environment

Frankfurt/Main, July 14, 2015 – IT automation specialist arago today announced the release of a new version of AutoPilot, its knowledge-based automation platform, with improved user friendliness and enhancements such as a redesigned user interface. Also new is a screen that shows the activities of AutoPilot clearly and transparently – and in real time. Customers can now personalize the Cockpit and tailor it to suit the needs of each user. There is also a new AutoPilot installer which simplifies the entire installation process. Autopilot 5.2 now starts gathering the knowledge it needs about the IT environment during the installation process itself. The machine learns about the processes via a "dialog" with the IT specialist and uses this knowledge to precisely tailor installation and troubleshooting.

AutoPilot is an intelligent automation platform for managing an organization's IT operations using knowledge items (KIs) that harness the knowledge of IT professionals. Because independent KIs can be combined dynamically, the solution is able to automate approximately 90% of the entire IT stack. Businesses deploying AutoPilot benefit from a massive reduction in IT costs, improved IT service quality and greater data security.

AutoPilot Installer
The newest version of AutoPilot features "one-click installation". AutoPilot now guides the user automatically through the complete installation process, requesting information when needed. The solution thus draws upon knowledge that has already been acquired while it processes newly entered data and integrates it seamlessly into the user's existing IT system. The automation platform works efficiently with a wide variety of IT environments. Autopilot is now perfectly capable of carrying out a cluster installation and installing, for example, a Cassandra database on three machines simultaneously.

"The new installer makes the installation process of our Autopilot automation solution much easier for customers. It is our response to requests from users for a simple setup procedure," says arago founder Chris Boos. "Since AutoPilot obtains new information about its operating environment during installation, it can adapt more effectively to complex environments, and as a result, is able to carry out a large part of the installation procedure itself.

Optimized user interface and KI Editor
AutoPilot Cockpit can now be tailored to suit the needs of individual users, thereby enabling each customer to have their own, custom user interface. The Cockpit also offers a real-time display of all the tickets being processed by AutoPilot.

"The new screen lets users check what AutoPilot is doing by looking over its shoulder – just as you would with a co-worker. IT administrators can thus see exactly what solutions the machine has selected. This also allows the IT staff working with AutoPilot to discover which is the most efficient approach," says arago CEO Chris Boos.

In addition to the Cockpit, the KI Editor used to create knowledge items has been upgraded. It now has a tutorial built into the GUI and provides step-by-step support for users preparing knowledge items, making it easier for IT specialists to pass their knowledge on to AutoPilot in the form of knowledge items. By combining knowledge items, the intelligent solution can respond flexibly to a wide variety of tickets and resolve even unexpected and unfamiliar problems.

"We are continually working to refine and improve AutoPilot so that IT professionals can devote the valuable time they spend solving routine problems to solving more complex and more demanding problems. Customer feedback helps us to further improve our technology. The latest version of AutoPilot is a major technological advance based on customer feedback, offering users even greater flexibility and more time-saving features. AutoPilot keeps developing into a faster and more efficient virtual IT colleague," says Chris Boos.

Companies already using AutoPilot will receive the update free of charge.
