(openPR) - Luxembourg’s Incumbent Fixed, Mobile and Internet Operator will Launch Converged Multimedia Services for Consumers and Enterprises
New Delhi, October 24th 2007 – Comverse, a subsidiary of Comverse Technology, Inc. and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, today announced that P&TLuxembourg, the country’s incumbent fixed telephony, mobile telephony and internet provider, has chosen Comverse to enable a full range of IP-based residential, business and fixed-mobile converged (FMC) communication services.
“P&TLuxembourg is embarking on an ambitious service deployment project that will take us into the future with the tools to attract business and residential subscribers, while creating alternative revenue streams for our company,” said Georges Klosen, Head of Fixed Technologies and Services of P&TLuxembourg. “We chose Comverse for their IP communications knowledge, proven expertise, innovative technologies and forward-thinking vision for emerging communications markets. The deployment of IP-based communication services with fixed-mobile convergence capabilities is strategic for our company.”
Comverse Converged IP Communications solutions will enable P&TLuxembourg to deliver a full range of multimedia fixed and mobile communication services to consumer and enterprise subscribers on the same Service Delivery Platform. The flexibility of the services, their interactivity and the rich applications environment allows for the creation of customized service bundles, thereby opening up new sources of revenue. Service usage can be increased by offering cross-domain services, such as communication and messaging. By deploying all the services on a single, open IMS-compliant platform, P&TLuxembourg also enjoys operational efficiencies.
“Comverse has placed significant resources in building a technically advanced, high-performance, flexible solution portfolio that enables operators to deploy both residential and enterprise services on the same platform with fixed-mobile convergence capabilities,” stated Yaron Tchwella, President of Comverse. “Comverse enables operators to deploy the services step-by-step, according to market demands and subscriber requirements, enabling operators to manage growth and expenditure. P&TLuxembourg will be reaping the benefits of our worldwide footprint and long-term deployment experience, while leveraging FMC for many new revenue possibilities.”
