But fear not! Arthur Hill, a poet that has been published on the internet has just launched a new poetry website to help poets and poetry lovers find and learn about poetry.
"After doing some research about what types of poetry related keywords people were searching the internet for, I concluded that there are 5 types of poetry that stand out, that people are demanding to know more about" says Hill.
"Here are 5 very popular types for poetry, and my guesses as to the reasons why people are looking for it online:
1. Love poems - People want to find or write a love poem. While love poems can be very romantic, it is often easy to make them more awkward than romantic. So it is good to review a few famous ones.
2. Friendship poems - Similar to a love poem, people want to express their feelings to a close friend. They may not necessarily be 'nice' friendship poems either; the topics vary the spectrum from appreciation of friendships to endings of friendships.
3. Funny poems - Funny poems mix humor with poetry. The result can be verse that is doubly clever or, as is often the case, doubly tacky! But if done right, funny poems can be very witty.
4. Sad poems - These could be useful during a eulogy. Also, many poets tend to be sad so this poetry can be popular.
5. Inspirational poems - These can be used to inspire greatness in business or education. Like motivational quotes, they can motivate the listener to achieve better things.
There are many other popular types of poetry, but I focused the website on these because people just seem to be so darn interested in them."
