HORIZONS NATIONAL HOSTS 9th ANNUAL HORIZONS GIVING DAY TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL EQUITY ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Horizons Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event to encourage support of Horizons National and its affiliate programs.

Horizons National will host its 9th Annual Horizons Giving Day event on Wednesday, May 17. This is a one-day marathon virtual fundraiser with a single goal: to raise more than $1.5 million to expand educational equity by growing existing Horizons programs and bringing Horizons to more communities and families nationwide. Gifts given to local Horizons sites stay local, and gifts given to Horizons National will help bring Horizons to new communities.

The work of Horizons is more urgent than ever before. The pandemic has caused all students to fall behind, and has had significant impacts on students' academics, mental health, and socialization. Experts recognize that it will take more than just the traditional school calendar to help kids recover. Programs like Horizons - those that offer long-term engagement, social-emotional support, and educational experiences outside of the traditional school model - will be the solution.

Horizons is ready to ensure that learning recovery is equitable for all students. The Horizons Network of affiliates, now at 75 sites in 20 states, is expanding rapidly - and we hope to reach 100 sites by 2025.

Horizons Giving Day was created in 2015 to bring the Horizons Network together for a day of support and celebration. More than half of Horizons' 75 program sites participate in HGD, and together, the Network has collectively raised over $1 million each year.
