Third inCOMMERCE conference on November 27 at the Bertelsmann
Commerce Without Boundaries

• Renowned speakers provide insights into their companies’ digitization projects and explore current developments on the international markets
• Presentations and case studies from Vorwerk, E-Plus and Tesco

(arvato Systems, hybris) Gütersloh and Munich – International e-commerce and best practices in the e-commerce sector are the focal themes of this year’s inCOMMERCE conference on November 27, 2014 in Berlin. For the third edition of the conference hosted by arvato Systems and hybris software, an SAP company, on e-commerce, omni-channel commerce and digitalization with the title “E-Commerce Strategies for Global Retailing“, decision makers will be coming together at the Bertelsmann Corporate Office in Berlin.

Globalization and digitization are changing market frameworks around the world faster and more profoundly than ever before. How are market players taking advantage of the opportunities associated with the digitisation of processes and business models? What options are available for e-commerce in China?

Commerce experts for digital transformation will be presenting strategies and models of modern, global e-commerce solutions and reporting on their insights and practical experience in areas such as e-commerce in China (Alibaba Group), the digitisation of cooking (Vorwerk) or omni-channel concepts in the food retail sector (e.g. Tesco).

“E-commerce is profiting immensely from the process of globalisation. Our speakers will show how companies can take advantage of this development to generate successful business,“ said Dr. Martin Anduschus, Vice President at IT system integrator and software developer arvato Systems, one of the two hosts. “The number of conference participants shows that we’ve touched a nerve in the sector.”

“Technical implementation is a key contributor to the success of any international expansion strategy,” said Michael Hubrich, Director Sales Germany/Austria/Switzerland at hybris, the other host. “At the inCOMMERCE conference participants benefit from compact and practice-oriented insights into the latest strategies and specific solutions – not just for omni-channel commerce in an international context, but also for digital transformation.“

This wide range of topics is reflected in the speakers’ presentations:

• Professor Dr. Marcus Schögel, Director of the Institute for Marketing at the University of St. Gallen, talking on the subject of the latest developments in multi-channel retailing.
• Kai Schäffner, Senior Vice President Marketing at Vorwerk International, talking about the digitisation of cooking – and a product called the “Thermomix Öko-System”.
• Carolyn Bradley, Senior Advisor at Alvarez & Marsal, explaining department store chain Debenhams’ and supermarket chain Tesco’s (both UK) omni-channel retailing concepts.
• Volker Glaeser, Expert for E-Commerce & Digitization and Olaf Rotax, Managing Director dgroup, explaining the significance of agile projects in e-commerce on the basis of a case study.

Kenan Ardali, Director International eCommerce Business Development, Alibaba Group EMEA, and Roger Tan, Vice President arvato Systems China will explain why this is probably the best time ever for for businesses considering to enter the Chinese online market.

After the presentations the speakers will be taking part in a panel debate on the future of international e-commerce and the opportunities that it presents for German enterprises – for instance, in China where there are more than 1.3 billion potential customers.
