(openPR) - Berlin, 4 October 2007 – The Berlin PSI subsidiary PSI Transcom GmbH will be presenting its new customer information system (KIS) for the first time at the Railtec in Dortmund from 12 to 14 November 2007. Other focuses will be on the presentation of client-capable control system solutions and video-aided train dispatching.
The new customer information system is currently being introduced at the Rhaetische Bahn, the largest private railway in Switzerland. In the future it will provide train stations with up-to-date information via TFT monitors. In addition, it will offer the opportunity for the display of additional customer and marketing activities using modern web-based technologies. Using voice-over-IP, direct communication between the passenger and the control center will also be possible.
The video-aided train handling was introduced to the largest German rail operations in August of this year. By transmitting images into the driver’s cab via a WLAN, the driver is able to dispatch the train him/herself. This saves a significant number of personnel in the safety and monitoring of the dispatching process.
