Leading Competitive Intelligence Event Returns to Chicago

Leading Competitive Intelligence Event Returns to Chicago

Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA) has announced that it will bring this year’s North American GIA Conference back to Chicago, Illinois, and host it at the chic Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. To be held between October 27 and 29, 2014, the industry-leading competitive intelligence event, which focuses on education, program development and networking, will include a speaker roster comprising competitive intelligence experts from Coca Cola, Hewlett Packard, IBM, MetLife, Nissan, Nokia, Standard Life, United HealthCare, Verizon, Western Union, and Xerox.

Organized by Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA), a strategic intelligence and advisory consultancy with a nearly 20 year history, the format of the event includes in-depth workshops, practical case presentations, panel discussions, interactive roundtable sessions - with no sales pitches. The event is restricted to less than 200 people so as to maximize the opportunities for best practice sharing.

"The GIA Conference is also about the networking, you meet people from all over the planet - it's not just about the US or Canada - and it is nice to speak to them; about how they have their market intelligence teams, how they work on their deliverable and how they meet up!" said Caroline McFarland, Senior Analyst, Market and Business Intelligence at Standard Life.

Over the three days, GIA Conference participants will get to discuss topics that they had requested for in advance. One additional feature of the event this year will be six roundtables that focus on pressing issues facing competitive intelligence managers in North America:

• Track 1 - SCOPE: World class market intelligence requires world class needs analysis.
• Track 2 - PROCESS: Using scenario planning to create future insight with business impact.
• Track 3 - DELIVERABLES: Data visualization – How to apply best practices in visualizing intelligence output?
• Track 4 - TOOLS: Building an award winning market intelligence platform.
• Track 5 - ORGANIZATION: Intelligence for the 21st century – What skills and competencies are required for success?
• Track 6 - CULTURE: Sell it to me – How to build intelligence culture through disciplined internal sales effort?

GIA also announced that it is giving away a free registration to every tenth person who signs up for the conference. This is in celebration of its tenth Conference anniversary as an industry event focused on meeting the specific personal development needs of those in charge of competitive intelligence research, strategic planning and analysis.

More information is available at www.globalintelligence.com/conferences. Registrations are open til October 24, 2014.
