Leading technology company OFRU is investing € 3.7 million in a new site in Alzenau / Specialist in Solvent Recycling moves to Bavaria

OFRU Recycling GmbH & Co. KG, a medium-sized family company from Babenhausen/Hesse, is investing in an exemplary project on Alzenau-North industrial estate and therefore strengthening its position as one of the leading technology companies in solvent recycling plants.

OFRU, known worldwide as a producer of "modern made-in-Germany environmental technology," celebrated the official start of construction by cutting the first turf at the ground breaking ceremony and paves the way for expansion in the 35-year company history.

The first construction phase on an area of around 5,000 m² will create an assembly hall for the production of medium-sized and small plants and a 17 m high crane hall for the production of large plants. The 2-storey office building will consist of an area of approx. 800 m² for development, engineering, sales and administration.

The construction-related measures and technical building services were designed to achieve a high level of energy efficiency in keeping with the company's slogan, "Protect our Environment." 100% of the heat is generated using air-to-water heat pumps and therefore there was no need for a connection to the conventional source of energy: natural gas. Well above average insulation for the building shell, façades and roof areas is planned for further energy optimisation. In addition, LED lighting is incorporated for all lighting areas: for both the assembly and crane hall as well as the office and social areas. These measures halve the annual primary energy requirements in comparison with the parameters of the German Energy Savings Ordinance 2014 (EnEV 2014), i.e. over 50% lower. The new industrial complex is therefore exemplary and considered a flagship project in the region.

"We have grown steadily in recent years and simply outgrown our site in Babenhausen," confirms Managing Director Denis Kargol. The city of Alzenau offers us ideal conditions as a future business location. "Alzenau is innovative, future-centric and has a high quality of life!" Located in the heart of the central Frankfurt Rhine-Main region, it has motorway links in the immediate vicinity, Frankfurt Airport, a supportive regional economic policy and a well-developed infrastructure. The "business-friendly community" is already home to well-known innovative hi-tech companies in the field of environmental technology and recycling for the optimisation of environmental cycles. Alzenau therefore provides an ideal basis to be able to operate successfully at an international level.

DEUTSCHE PROJEKTBAU, an Alzenau-based company with nearly 40 years of construction experience, was awarded the contract for the general planing and turnkey construction of the new company building for OFRU, a future Alzenau-based company.

The start of production at the new company headquarters of OFRU Recycling GmbH & Co. KG in Alzenau is already planned for quarter 1, 2015. This will therefore create an additional 45 high-quality jobs for the Alzenau-North site and set a platform to continue OFRU's success story. There is already expansion potential for the production and administration facilities included in the master plan.

Typical solvents include ethyl acetate in packaging printing and flexo printing in ethanol, toluene in gravure and all known organic solvents for washing the flexographic printing plates / sleeves in analog prepress.
