The Mongoose product line is a family of interfaces between the vehicle and a laptop or desktop computer. Uses include shop diagnostics, data logging, instrumentation, performance recording, fleet management, engineering level data acquisition and J2534 flash reprogramming. Mongoose can diagnose vehicle problems, read trouble codes, show PID data, tag data for playback and support enhanced OEM-specific features.
The Mongoose Ford interface gives the technician J2534 flash capabilities for Ford vehicles. With this Mongoose version, a technician can log on to www.motor craftservice.com and reprogram modules. This product also has the ability to do PATS key programming. Prior to this product being available, the only option for a technician or locksmith to perform PATS key programming was to buy a factory service tool or a fully compliant J2534 tool. With the Mongoose interface, you also can reprogram Ford vehicle ECMs and many body modules. Mongoose Ford features a USB 2.0 pass-thru interface with the electronics inside the cable. It supports 1996 and newer Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles and all OBD II CAN-equipped vehicles from any automaker. It handles Ford SCP (J1850PWM) and CAN (ISO15765) protocols. An optional FEPS version supports FMP flash reprogramming
