STATEMENT BY THE QATAR INVESTMENT AUTHORITY

QATAR HOLDING LLC, A WHOLLY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE QATAR INVESTMENT AUTHORITY, INVESTS IN OMX

Following an earlier statement issued today, the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qatar Holding LLC (Qatar Holding), has purchased a 9.98 per cent stake in OMX.

This purchase is a key step in the QIA´s ambitions to take supportive holdings in the European exchange infrastructure. As part of this initiative, the QIA also announced earlier today that it had taken a 20% stake in the London Stock Exchange. The QIA believes that these stakes will help build on the success of Qatar as a strong regional financial centre.
