(openPR) - This summer, EMBARQ™, a telecommunications company, partnered with I Support Learning, the developer and leader in story-centered curricula, to provide the Boys & Girls Club of Wyandotte County with a one of a kind learning experience. The students at the Boys & Girls Club were taught Video Game Design using I Support Learning’s reality-learning curricula. Each student designs their own video game, which they can take home and play on their computer. EMBARQ™ is testing the program for other Boys & Girls Club tech centers across the country.

“We are excited about being able to offer these students our Video Game Design curriculum through the Technology and Innovation centers EMBARQ™ has provided the Boys & Girls clubs,” stated Steve Waddell, I Support Learning’s founder and lead developer. “We feel that EMBARQ’s partnership is a good fit for our goals and overall mission.”

Myers, FL, and Franklin, IN, and Kansas City, KS. EMBARQ™ has provided new computer hardware equipment, educational software and innovative EMBARQ™ products and services, including EMBARQ™ High-Speed Internet, to the four centers. Lisa Strawn- Adams is the Director of Education for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kansas City.

“The curriculum worked well teaching the students how to use a computer programming language. I think the students who completed the program show the initiative to pursue a career in programming or technology,” stated Adams.
